FROM PHOTO-ENGRAVING TO PRINTING

ABOUT US

Rototex Srl was founded in January 1981 in Prato’s famously renowned textile industrial district. At that time, the company was primarily focused on photo-engraving on cylinders for rotary screen printing.

Since then, Rototex Srl has progressively evolved. The company has transformed from the creation of designs and patterns for the textile industry, to printing on a variety of fabrics. For this reason, we pride ourselves on our comprehensive knowledge and wide experience in the field of rotary screen textile printing. Our unique company is outstanding in the textile industry. We assure quality and expertise in our production.

Today, Rototex Srl has enthusiastically launched into the future by researching new solutions and products to meet the expectations of our customers.

Lamination

Lamination

Through lamination a thin foil (generally heat resistant polymers such as PES), is transferred to the fabric previously printed with an adhesive.

This technique allows the obtaining of designs with characteristics which are not accessible by classic pigment printing. Lamination with metallic gold and silver foils are the most popular.

At Rototex Srl we can provide a vast catalogue of foils for a huge variety of effects on your textile.

Flocking

Flocking

Flocking is a printing technique in which small fibres (natural or synthetic) are applied to a textile previously printed with an adhesive.

Usually, the fibres are vertically projected on to the fabric by means of an electrical field. The result is a design or a pattern typically resembling velvet.

Rototex Srl has a pattern book dedicated to flocking. Moreover, it is possible to realise flocked prints using any single-colour design of our collection.

This technique consists in applying colorants (pigments) on the fabric by means of a rotatory printer. Our machines allow the realisation of designs composed of up to nine colours.

Pigments are water-insoluble dyes which are homogeneously dispersed in water together with other additives in order to improve the durability and tactility of the prints. Other components can create characteristically different effects which increases the value of your prints, for example – glitter.

Rototex Srl currently owns over 8000 cylinders for printing which correspond to more than 4000 different designs. Our graphic studio creates and modifies existing patters and designs which enriches our collection on a daily basis.

Dye-sublimation printing

Dye-sublimation printing

With this printing, colorants are transferred through sublimation from a support technique. This consists of a specific type of paper that has been previously printed on with the desired design to the fabric.

During this process the colorants penetrate through the fibres on a molecular level. This means that it is possible to retain resolution and colour brightness possessed by the transfer printer, which are normally much higher than those typically obtained with serigraphic techniques.

Moreover, the print is more durable and mechanically resistant.
